Started as Canadian Calibre in 1981 we became Rouge River Chocolate Company in 2015 to celebrate the fact that we are located near the Rouge River and Rouge River conservation area in Toronto and Markham.

Along with the new name came a renewed commitment to serve the hospitality and promotional industries as the only remaining artisanal manufacturer of custom chocolate in Canada.

We design, create and mould custom chocolate for giveaways, corporate promotion, special events, trade shows and more using the highest quality pure chocolate with all natural ingredients and no preservatives.

Our Story

In 2010 Guy & Bobby acquired Zeron Fine Foods, a tiny vanilla, and spice importer and repacking business. That was the beginning of a foray into food. What goes well with vanilla? Well chocolate, of course!

In 2014 the two best friends took over the operations of Canadian Calibre which then became Rouge River Chocolate Company a year later. Over the next couple of years, they turned a company that had primarily been a wholesale distributor of chocolate products into a company that makes almost all the chocolate it sells.

After many years as a professional athlete and fitness coach Bobby turned to his love of chocolate for his second career. Balancing life as a chocolate maker while holding a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, people often ask, “How can you be a chocolate maker?” “Easy,” he says with a smile, “making and eating high quality chocolate is essential to having a healthy and happy life.”
